‘I know that whenever I get a PR result, they will be thrilled for me!

During my time working with Michelle and Christian, my PR wins included being featured in Psychologies, The Guardian, The Telegraph, The Independent and HuffPost, as well as becoming a recurring guest expert on BBC Radio. I am confidently flying solo now, and continue to be approached most weeks to provide expert comment by at least one media outlet.

Accountability.

We all know that quick fixes don’t work. You need to make a commitment to PR. At the beginning of my PR journey, Michelle and Christian held me accountable. I moved my weekly personal training session to make sure I got back on time for our coaching calls, and I made the effort to have something different to report back on.

Another way I motivated myself was to commit to an ongoing package of support and pay in advance. I wanted to see a benefit and get value for my money, so I put in the work!

Confidence.

Press coverage helps me to feel confident to go after bigger jobs. I am treated as being more credible because of my expertise being valued by the media.

When I first started being commissioned to write paid-for articles, Michelle and Christian’s feedback helped me to make sure it was as robust, interesting, useful and as credible a piece of writing it could be. They made sure things like my lead magnet were on point, so I could put them out publicly with pride.

Christian was my Grammar & Punctuation Ninja! Michelle, on the other hand, was good at giving me ‘pep talks’ on Messenger whenever I needed an extra boost. That support was especially helpful when I was writing my book, The Aspiring Psychologist Collective.

Media coaching.

For the time we worked together, Michelle and Christian became part of my business – my tribe – just like my accountant, VA and financial advisor. In fact, I didn’t think of them as a PR company – rather, they were my ‘media coaches’.

I learned so much from them but, having built up my own extensive contacts book, there naturally came a time when I no longer needed weekly support. We remain friends and, even now, whenever I get a PR result, they message to say they are thrilled for me! I never feel like they are just paying me lip service. They do genuinely care about the outcomes for me – and that personal touch matters above everything else.
