A trio of Warrington business owners completed a unique voluntary project celebrating female entrepreneurs ahead of International Women’s Day (IWD) 2020.
In March last year, award-winning online marketing specialist Helen Pritchard challenged PR consultants Michelle and Christian Ewen to interview 365 female entrepreneurs in 365 consecutive days – telling 365 stories in exactly 365 words.
Within just 48 hours, Helen financed and built the shecan365.com website in her capacity as host. The project officially launched on IWD 2019 and a new, inspiring story has been published online every day since.
In response to popular demand, the three close friends launched a successful Kickstarter campaign in March – raising more than £9,500 to publish the whole collection of stories in a coffee table-style book.
“A lasting legacy of what the #SheCan365 community has achieved together, this book is intended to inspire all future female entrepreneurs – empowering them for success,” said Michelle, 41, who lives in Stockton Heath.
“As far afield as Shetland and Cornwall, we spoke to an inclusive, diverse range of women at every stage of the business journey – from start-ups to seven-figure ventures. They gave their time freely – explaining how adversity was a catalyst to pursue their passion and purpose. The universal theme was one of resilience.”
The final story was published online on Friday, 6 March and the #SheCan365 book will be available to purchase on Amazon this summer. The team are also proudly supporting CoppaFeel! – a national breast cancer awareness charity.
“I wanted this project to be about the nature of women who commit to showing up every single day, 365 days a year – and what CAN be achieved when success is a decision,” said Helen, 40, who lives in Grappenhall.
“When I told my story to be Day 1, I had decided I was going to sell £1m+ of my ‘LinkedIn Mastermind’ course – and I did. In 365 days, my business and I have evolved, grown and changed, and now new and exciting goals are being set.
‘I am so proud of Michelle and Christian. They have pulled off the boldest and most ambitious project I’ve ever challenged someone to do, and I’m super-excited for the next phase of evolution for #SheCan365.”
Contributors to the book appeared live on the Story Stage at Womanifest – the empowerment and lifestyle event for women, which took place at the Hilton Hotel Deansgate.
